Store To Door Golf Tournament 2012

Golf Tournament 2011

Last fall, long-time volunteers and avid golfers Ray and Linda Roeller proposed hosting a Store To Door golf tournament to raise funds for and awareness about Store To Door. In reflecting about her decision to host the tournament, Linda says, “Ray and I were just talking one day about volunteering in general, and he suggested that we organize a golf tournament to benefit Store To Door. We both love golf and have lots of friends who enjoy golf, so it just seemed like a no-brainer to us.

A year later, after many hours of hard work by the Roellers and other volunteers the golf tournament became a reality. On Saturday, August 6th, over 100 people showed up at Pheasant Acres golf course in Rogers to support Store To Door.

It was a beautiful day on the golf course. In addition to a traditional 18 hole game, golfers had the opportunity to participate in contests like “chip into the grocery cart” which raised additional revenue for Store To Door. We saw many familiar faces on the course, with long-time supporters coming out to play. There were also many new supporters who had the chance to learn more about what we do. After the tournament, guests were treated to a delicious meal in the clubhouse, and had the chance to participate in a silent auction.

We would like to thank Ray and Linda for the time and energy they spent making this event a success. They coordinated every detail and secured many sponsors for the event. Additionally, many volunteers provided help throughout the day, helping with everything from setting up the silent auction to selling chances in the contests on the course. We’d also like to thank our financial sponsor for this event: Abdo, Eick, & Meyers LLP, Certified Public Accountants & Consultants, as well as our 18 hole sponsors. The event was a huge success, raising over $7,000 to support Store To Door! Thank you to all who participated.
