Store To Door is in the midst of planning our annual Volunteer Appreciation Event. The event will take place this year at Braemar County Club in Edina on May 5, 2012. The event is sponsored by UCare, Xcel Energy, Comcast, and Cub Foods. Current volunteers can expect to receive more details by invitation near the end of March. 2011
On May 14th, Store To Door hosted our annual appreciation event at Braemar Golf Club in Edina. This was the first year that we’ve had the event indoors and it was a good decision – the day was rainy, cold, and windy, but we were nice and warm inside the clubhouse!
About 200 Store To Door supporters came out for a catered BBQ lunch, sponsored by Xcel, Comcast, and Cub Foods. Attendees played Store To Door trivia, heard from Board Chair Chuck Zimmerman, and watched the new Store To Door video. Marie Smith was awarded the Volunteer Recognition Award for her dedication as a shopper and on the Outreach Committee. Allan Rosenwald was awarded the Donor Recognition Award for his support of Store To Door throughout the years, and for bringing in new Store To Door supporters.
We really appreciated the opportunity to say thank you to those people who make our service possible. Thank you to all who came and made it a great day! And a special thank you to our event sponsors: Comcast, Xcel Energy and Cub Foods!

2010
Store To Door celebrated its volunteer staff on Saturday May 22 at the Volunteer Appreciation Picnic. Over 100 people gathered at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis with attendees including volunteer shoppers, order takers, office assistants, coupon clippers, and board members.
The day started with some ominous clouds in the sky, but this did not prevent volunteers from coming to the park for the festivities. We had a wide range of volunteer tenure at the event, with some volunteers new to the agency within the last month, some volunteers who had been with the agency for over 20 years, and everything in between! As the rain started to fall, everyone was able to stay dry under the picnic pavilion enjoying a picnic of delicious fried chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, fruit, chips, and rolls…all from Cub Foods of course! A variety of donated door prizes were given out to guests throughout the day, including Holiday gift cards, St Paul Saints baseball tickets, Roller Girl tickets, potted plants, and Store To Door hats and cookbooks.
The day wrapped up with three skits, tailored to Store To Door performed by the RSVP “Pretty Good Players.” As the last of our door prizes were being given out, the wind kicked up and rain came pouring down. Thunder and lighting crashed across the sky, making one final tribute to the power of volunteering! On behalf of all the staff and customers at Store To Door, we once again would like to extend a most heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers.
