Serving the seven-county metro area of Minneapolis-St Paul Minnesota

Community Nutrition Event

Store To Door Program Manager, Sarah Skjolsvik, stands next to $16 worth of groceries -- $16 is the minimum food support benefit available through the SNAP program.

On March 3, 2011 Store To Door teamed up with Volunteers of America, North Minneapolis Meals on Wheels and Hennepin County to present a “Food Choices” nutrition education seminar to the residents at Horn Towers in South Minneapolis.

Nutritionist Sara Vine, a Store To Door volunteer, talked about affordable and healthy eating. Residents also learned about the variety of food support options available to them, including Store To Door, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), NAPS (Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors), congregate dining sites, the Joyce Food Shelf, and the local community garden.
